HGS emphasize a lot on co-curricular activities as they facilitate for the development of various domains of mind and personality such as intellectual development, emotional development, social development, moral development and aesthetic development. Creativity, Enthusiasm, and Energetic, Positive thinking are some of the facets of personality development and the outcomes of extracurricular activities
HGS has a rich history of historical facts in co-curricular area as well, those are;
On Friday, the final hour is allotted to different society activities. There are seven societies and each year the students choose to be a part of a society of their choice. Society presidents are selected from students of grade ten. These activities provide the subject teams, comprising of teachers and students, to practice and finally make their presentations during the Annual Students’ Week.
Bits and Bytes – Computer Society
Students learned about photo story and made excellent presentations about it. A quiz and poster making competition was also held.
Futuristics – Science Society
The society conducted weekly activity based sessions. These session comprised of quizzes, inquiry based activities and informative videos.
Scholastics – Social Studies Society
The students were engaged in many different activities like Mock parliament sessions, quizzes, plays, debates and presentations.
Literati – English Society
Students were further divided into three sub groups i.e. the drama club, book club and debate club. Through these clubs students were involved in age appropriate activities through out to develop language and literary skills.
Bazm Ganje Shaigan – Urdu
The society conducted different poetry writing competitions, essay writing competitions, elocutions and stage plays
Logicians – Mathematics
The society members meet on monthly bases for half an hour to explore and plan activities in depth for each grade level. Every level has a differentiated contest like skits, model making, quizzes etc.
Art Insight – Art Society
Society members gather in the art room where the society president and teachers have planned various activities for them to carry out. The final exhibition is held during the students week.
