Junior Section

Our Approach

It is said that the early childhood years are an integral part of a person’s personality. It is often at this tender young age that children absorb messages that can make or break their futures as adults. Therefore, at the HPS Junior Section, we take our responsibility as the nurturers of young minds very seriously. We take great pride in the fact that our junior school staff have all been trained to employ age-appropriate techniques to support your child’s social, emotional, and physical well being at school in addition to their learning in the classroom.

The Environmental Club keeps HPS and its surrounding community clean and pollution free. The society hosts a events throughout the year, including “No Smoking Day”, “Water Day”, and “Plantation Week”.

Cooking Club

To be able to study effectively, students need to take special care to look after their physical health. In an effort to educate students about the food and nutrition that their bodies need, we have established the Cooking Club as part of the Junior School Enrichment Program. Students will be familiarised with the basics of good nutrition, how to read food labels, how to plan and prepare meals, and much more!

ICT club

Coding is an essential 21st century skill and we at the Coding Club are proud to help our students develop a solid foundation in computer coding and programming. Members of the Coding Club will learn to program fractals and games, design computer graphics, and establish GUIs. The club will also increase members’ tech literacy by increasing their awareness around the latest programming trends in tech and academia.

Readers Club

The Reader’s Club aims to develop its members’ creative expression and analytical thinking skills through a series of thoughtful discussions. The society aims to bring together intelligent minds across campus and develop students’ intellect with lively conversations about their reading experiences.

Arts and Craft

The arts are a great way to develop a child’s personal and creative expression. Research into the science of learning is full of praise for the benefits of regular artistic expression. The arts help your child think in new creative ways which in turn helps them destress, form new neurological connections in the brain to promote learning, and, most importantly–to have fun!

Science Club

The Science Club at HPS Junior School is a mentor-based program for grades 3-5. The club brings students and teachers together to conduct a variety of fun and engaging scientific experiments. The aim of this club is to spark children’s curiosity in the fields of STEM, and to encourage a life-long love of learning!

Mathematics Club

The Math Club at HPS gives students entering the STEAM field a unique way to develop their mathematical and logical skills. The club aims to develop a deep love for Mathematics in students’ hearts by keeping them engaged in a variety of math-related activities throughout the school year. This includes setting up the “Problem of the Month” and encouraging students to compete in the prestigious annual MATH competition.

Public Speaking

To be able to communicate one’s ideas clearly and effectively is extremely important for professional and personal success. The Public Speaking Club at HPS aims to develop members’ public speaking skills by improving their presentation skills and building their speaking confidence. Students can expect to take part in healthy debate at the Public Speaking Club and to take turns presenting and negotiating their ideas.

Bazm-e-Urdu
